Life in the Archives
This presentation gives insight of my experience conducting archival research in the Paul Sacher Stiftung and the Stockhausen Stiftung. I travelled in June 2018, funded by the Magellan Scholar Research Grant, the Ceny Walker Undergraduate Fellowship, and the School of Music Travel Grant.
Tracing Tradition
This presentation corresponds with the lecture recital I gave, "Listen, Learn, Ligeti." We combined a performance of Ligeti's Horn Trio alongside information about the composer, his compositional process, and the music itself. Prior to each movement, we informed the audience of key things to consider, relating ideas back to Ligeti's original sketches from the archives. During the movements, a presentation played the players, guiding the audience along with the performance. This concert guide is part of the overarching project I am researching this winter at the University of Potsdam. I will be studying with Professor Christian Thorau for the Fulbright Student Research Grant.
